Our investigation revealed that the same hospital, which had recently acquired the wheelchairs, had multiple similar events in a very short period of time. The hospital pulled these wheelchairs out of service. Further investigation revealed many similar incidents with this model of wheelchair in medical facilities across the country. The manufacturer settled this products liability claim with our client when presented with the pattern of injury caused by the sudden closure of the wheelchair seat which led to a series of horrific injuries.
