A welder was working for a contractor in an industrial facility and a violent explosion tossed the welder through the air and caused a closed head injury. Immediate investigation of the accident by our office along with an industry consultant revealed the force of the blast. Fault and cause of the welder’s injury were in dispute in the litigation. The industrial facility settled with the injured welder during the litigation. A month-old child tragically had her father killed in an explosion in an industrial accident. The little girl’s father had been inside a vessel when an explosion occurred. Litigation followed against several Defendants and continued for over a year with many depositions obtained from witnesses. The case settled short of trial with trust funds being established to care for the little girl for the remainder of her life.
